Jean Jacques André (b. 1932)

Jean-Jacques André was born in Marseilles, France in 1932. A photographer for over 50 years, André specializes in portraiture and artistic nude photomontage. His photographs juxtapose the softness and sensuousness of the female form with the cold stone of ancient sculpture and architectural forms. For André, photomontage 'permits [him] to recall past experiences, create new ones, search back into memories, and look forward into an imaginary future.'
